  • Toño Mexican Sterling Mixed Metal Stone Inlay Aztec Pin
Offered in this sale is a fine Mexican sterling silver mixed metal inlaid
brooch/pendant signed Toño. The large round pendant with a serrated edge is
inlaid with turquoise and azurite (a blue and green relative of malachite) with
copper details, depicting a stylized Aztec profile of a man with a parrot on his
upraised arm. Most distinctive about this piece is the fact that the figure’s
earring is applied separately and pivots on the attaching pin, and there are
four teardrop shaped, inlaid pendants suspended from the bottom of the pendant.
The back features a hook for use as a pendant, and a pin with safety clasp. This
piece was probably made in the 1950s.
Marks: Signed Toño, with a round Sterling/925/Taxco mark, and with a script
mark/artist signature ___Cecilia(?) and numbered 75.
Dimensions: 2 5/8 inch diameter, 3 inches high including drop pendants.
Condition: Excellent with light surface wear from age, but no damage or
    repairs of any kind.
