    Mounting holes center to center are 2″ one hole is oblong to allow a bit of adjustment.
    Cable can be modified to make shorter by removing wire, cutting jacket and wire to your needs.

    We have had few customer complaints that it is too short for a Series 1 machine.   We have used on all the older horse for many years without incident but the horse had many small revisions and its possible variations are out there.
    We also cannot account for motor swaps and all the home grown engineering that has been done to these tillers, many are 30 or more years old and have been used, abused, reworked and modified.    Horse models were made for a long time and had revisions and changes that are hard to document.
    The spacing on the welded tab on some models is a slightly different spacing then our cable.   You may need to oblong, grind or drill out the holes to get a good fit.  On some it fits perfectly and not on others.   We have no control over these variations.   Ordering an OEM part from MTD will not solve this issue of variations.

    AFTER 100s OF SATISFIED CUSTOMERS WE GET NEGATIVE FEEDBACK BECAUSE THE CABLE IS TO SHORT ?   I GUESS THE LARGE RED 53 5/8″ LENGTH AND THE WARNING TO MEASURE BEFORE YOU BUY IS NOT SUFFICIENT.
    WE CANNOT MAKE CUSTOMERS READ THE LISTING BEFORE THEY BUY – IT IS A SHAME THAT SOMEHOW THAT IS PERCEIVED TO BE OUR FAULT.     MANY OF THE 4 SPEED MODELS USED A DIFFERENT CABLE ASSEMBLY ALL TOGETHER – IT HAD A LEVER SIMILAR TO MTD PUSH MOWERS.   ON SOME REVISIONS THE HANDLE BARS STILL HAD THE TABS TO USE THIS STYLE CABLE EVEN THOUGH THEY CAME WITH A DIFFERENT CABLE.
    HORSE MODELS HAVE HAD MANY REVISIONS AND SMALL VARIATIONS –  WE CANT SAY IT ENOUGH –
